How Long to Keep Bleach on Face?
Bleach works by lightening facial hair. It doesn’t need forever. The cream starts reacting within a few minutes. Usually 10 to 15 minutes. After that, more time doesn’t mean better results. It just means more irritation.
My friend Pooja once left it on for 25 minutes. She thought longer would mean brighter. Big mistake. Her skin felt tight. Slight burning. Red patches near the jaw. The brightness faded in two days. The irritation stayed longer. Not worth it.
General Timing Guide
- Sensitive skin: 5–10 minutes
- Normal skin: 10–15 minutes
- Thick facial hair: up to 15 minutes (max)
- First-time use: start with 5–8 minutes
- Never exceed 15–20 minutes
Quick tip — always do a patch test 24 hours before. And set a timer. Don’t guess.
If you feel strong burning, wash it off immediately. Mild tingling? That’s common. Sharp sting? Nope. Remove it.
Also, don’t bleach right after threading or waxing. Skin is already irritated. Give it a few days. Your skin will thank you.
In short, 10–15 minutes is enough. Enough for brightness. Enough for glow. Not too much for damage.
And honestly? More time doesn’t mean more glow. It just means risk.
