Hair fall is the shedding of hair from the scalp. It can range from thinning to baldness and is caused by factors like genetics, hormones, and stress.

Hair fall occurs when the hair growth cycle is disrupted. Normally, hair grows, rests, and falls out. However, excessive hair loss occurs when the growth phase shortens. 

Alopecia is a condition where hair loss occurs in patches on the scalp or other parts of the body. It can affect both men and women and may be triggered by autoimmune responses, stress, or genetic factors.

The immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, leading to hair loss and preventing new hair growth.

Hair thinning refers to the gradual reduction in hair density, resulting in sparse or finer hair. It can occur due to genetics, hormonal changes, or ageing, and is often seen as a natural part of the ageing process.

It happens when hair follicles shrink, producing thinner strands, and fewer hairs enter the growth phase.

A receding hairline refers to the gradual loss of hair along the forehead, creating an “M” or “V” shape. It’s common with ageing and often linked to genetics, affecting both men and women.

It occurs when hair follicles shrink due to hormonal changes, particularly an increase in dihydrotestosterone (DHT), leading to hair thinning.

Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, is excessive perspiration beyond the body's cooling needs. It can affect specific areas or the entire body.

Hyperhidrosis occurs when sweat glands overproduce. Primary hyperhidrosis has no known cause, while secondary hyperhidrosis is triggered by factors like medication, medical conditions, or stress.

Body acne appears on the back, chest, and shoulders. It occurs when pores clog with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria.  Body acne can also cause scarring if not managed properly.

Skin laxity refers to the loss of skin firmness and elasticity, making it appear loose or saggy. This occurs as the skin loses collagen and elastin, proteins that keep the skin tight.

Collagen and elastin production decreases with age, leading to skin laxity. Sun exposure, smoking, and weight fluctuations accelerate this process.

Stubborn, unwanted fat refers to fat that is resistant to diet and exercise, often found around the belly, thighs, and underarms.

This fat is typically more persistent due to factors like genetics, hormones, and lifestyle choices. While diet and exercise help reduce overall body fat, stubborn fat is harder to eliminate from specific areas.

Strawberry skin, or Keratosis Pilaris (KP), is a common skin condition characterised by small, red bumps, often on the arms, thighs, or buttocks.

KP occurs when excess keratin builds up in hair follicles, blocking them and forming rough bumps. While its harmless, it can be noticeable and sometimes itchy. 

A body tan results from skin darkening after sun or tanning bed exposure. The skin produces more melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour, in response to UV radiation.

Body tanning occurs when UV rays stimulate melanin production. While tanning provides a bronzed look, excessive sun exposure increases the risk of premature ageing and sunburn.
