Taking good care of your skin doesn’t always mean going to a salon. With a few mild and plant-based ingredients from your pantry, you can make a facial at home that is revitalizing and very soothing. The goal is to do the following four things: clean, exfoliate, feed, and hydrate—naturally and in a biologically safe manner.

Step-by-Step Home Natural Facial

1 Cleanse

Firstly, remove all dirt, the makeup, and the oil. Here are some natural cleanser you may use:

- Cucumber juice – It has a cooling and refreshing effect

- Aloe vera gel – It is also a great hydrator and tranquillizer

How-to Apply:

- Put a thin layer of the material on the damp skin

- Work the material in the skin gently for 1 minute

- Take off the material with water of a moderate temperature

 2 Steam (optional)

- Used for freeing the pores from the dirt that is trapped inside them.

- Put your face close to a bowl of hot water for 5–6 minutes

- There is also the possibility to add neem leaves or chamomile to the water to enrich the steaming with other effects

- If you have very sensitive skin or get redness easily, consider not steaming.

 3 Exfoliate

- Remove dead skin cells by rubbing a gentle homemade scrub on your face.

Recipe:

- 1 tbsp finely ground coffee or semolina

- 1 tsp coconut water or rose water

- Lightly rub the mixture onto the skin for 1–2 minutes and then rinse it away.

(Be sure that the pressure is very gentle—skin is very fragile!)

4 Mask

Select a mask that is appropriate for your type of skin:

Skin Type Mask Suggestion Benefits

- Oily / Acne-prone Neem powder + yogurt Reduces oil, fights bacteria

- Dry Skin Avocado mash + olive oil Deep nourishment + softness

- Dull Skin Papaya pulp + raw honey Brightening glow

- Combination Skin Aloe gel + cucumber paste Balances oily & dry zones

Apply the mask and lie down. After 10–12 minutes rinse it off.

5 Tone + Moisturise

Hold on to all that good stuff! First: Use witch hazel water or cucumber mist as a toner Then, Few drops of jojoba oil or almond oil (good for the majority of skin types) are applied, Massage gently until the oil is absorbed.
