This Q-switch Laser treatment is effective in treating freckles, sun spots, age spots, acne marks & melasma. It also gives hair, especially facial hair, a bleached effect.

Through the Q-switch laser treatment the Client can expect lightening or clearing of pigmentation and acne marks.
Client meets the doctor to assess treatment requirements and areas of treatment.
For the Q-switch treatment, the client’s face is cleansed after which a thin layer of carbon is applied.
The laser is directed at the treatment areas in sweeps. Wearing safety glasses is a must when dealing with lasers.
Once the treatment is done, the treated area is cleansed with cotton and saline.
A cryogenic mask is applied for 10-15 minutes to cool the skin.
The mask is then removed, the treated area is cleansed, dried and sunscreen is applied.
During the Q-switch Laser treatment, wear the protective eyewear provided by the aesthetician during the length of the service.
Avoid sun exposure for at least seven to ten days after the Q-switch Laser treatment. Wear a broad spectrum sunscreen daily. Be aware that the treated area will have crusts for upto two weeks or more depending on the area of treatment. It is recommended to use plain petroleum jelly and keep the area covered to ensure safe healing. Do not pick the crust as it may lead to scarring.
Potential side effects of Q-switch Laser treatment include burning sensation on the treated area for several minutes or few hours after treatment. If it persists, please contact our doctor. Redness may occur during or after the Q-switch treatment. Fine hair may whiten giving a bleached effect. In severe and rare cases mottled hypo or hyperpigmentation, leukoderma, severe redness and hives may occur.
