Lashes don’t stay forever. Your natural lashes grow, rest, then fall. Extensions fall with them. That’s part of the deal.
But if they’re dropping fast? There’s usually a reason.
My client Aisha called me two days after her appointment. “They’re falling already!” she said. Turns out, she slept face down. Plus, oil-based makeup remover. Not ideal. We fixed those two things. Next set lasted weeks. Small changes. Big difference.
Quick tip — if extensions fall with a tiny natural lash attached, that’s normal. If they slide off clean with no lash, that’s usually adhesive or aftercare.
Also, weather matters. Humidity affects glue. Hormones too. Sounds random, but it’s true. Your body changes. Lashes respond.
Here’s the thing. Extensions are light. But they still depend on your real lashes. If your natural lashes are weak, stressed, or shedding faster than usual, extensions won’t hold long. That’s not failure. That’s biology.
And please don’t pick at them. I know it’s tempting. Don’t.
If they fall within 24–48 hours, call your lash tech. That’s not normal shedding. That’s something else.
If it’s been 2–3 weeks? That’s average. Pretty standard. Time for a refill.
Full but natural. Fluffy, not heavy. That’s the goal. But maintenance matters. A little care goes a long way.
Is it normal for lash extensions to fall out every day?
Yes. A few daily is completely normal.
Why are they falling out after one week?
Usually aftercare, oil products, or sleeping position.
Do extensions damage natural lashes?
Not when applied and maintained properly.
Lashes shed. That’s life.
But if yours are disappearing overnight… maybe it’s time to tweak your routine?
