A local anaesthetic cream is applied on the areas to be treated and left for 30-45 minutes. The area is then cleansed.
Markings indicating areas to be treated are done by the doctor after which the calculated units are loaded and injected in the areas marked. After which the treated area is cleansed.
Do not consume any alcoholic beverages for at least 24 hours prior to the treatment as alcohol may thin the blood and increase risk of bruising. Avoid any anti-inflammatory or blood thinning medications for at least two weeks prior to the treatment. Please consult with your physician if this is a possibility. Have a good meal before the procedure to decrease your chances of getting lightheaded.
Do not lie down flat, lean forward completely or bend downwards for four hours post treatment. Avoid rubbing and massaging the treated areas for the next 24 hours. Avoid going to the gym or any form of exercise for the next 24 hours. For post masseter wrinkle relaxer (cheek bone & area near the ear), it is advisable to chew a chewing gum for an hour or more to avoid difficulty in chewing and swallowing. It can take approximately four to seven days for the results of the treatment to be seen.
Most common side effects include redness, swelling, bruising and sometimes pain in the treated site. Difficulty in swallowing or chewing post cheekbone (masseteric) wrinkle relaxer is common.
You are pregnant or breastfeeding. You have the tendency to bruise easily.
